Algebra II
During the first semester four major topics are studied: functions, variation, linear equations, and systems of equations. The text used is the University of Chicago School Mathematics Program (UCSMP) Advanced Algebra. Students use graphing calculators in the study of these topics and special attention is paid to relating functions to their graphs. Students learn through examples rather than memorizing formulas and methods.

During the second semester six major topics are studied: parabolas, inverses, powers, radicals, logarithms, and trigonometry. Students are assessed through nightly homework assignments, weekly quizzes, chapter tests and projects, and a comprehensive final exam.
