Calculus
During the first semester, three major topics are studied: limits, derivatives, and applications of derivatives. The text, developed by the Harvard Calculus Consortium, does a wonderful job of presenting topics numerically, algebraically, and geometrically so as to push students to understand concepts on multiple levels.

During the second semester, four major topics are studied: integration, applications of definite integrals, slope fields, and a review of all of the topics covered throughout the year in preparation for the A.P. exam.

Class time is used to discuss the homework, work problems and introduce the new topic. While graphing calculators are used in the study of these functions, students must be able to solve most problems on exams with only paper and pencil. Students are assessed by their performance on tests, old A.P. exams, and work in class.
