English as a Second Language
The ESL program at BHS provides international students with a whole language learning experience in English and mainstreams them into the college preparatory curriculum. First year ESL students take classes in English reading, writing, speaking and grammar. After the first year, students are mainstreamed according to their English abilities. Sheltered classes in history, science, literature and writing are provided along with the college preparatory curriculum. Click on links below for a detailed course description of classes offered.
